Keep Supplying Opposites Challenge

Emoji atmosphere. Waist up of smiling gi

Using opposites can be a great way of exposing your child to new descriptive language and also the use of prepositions

Some of the skills they will likely develop are:

  • increased awareness of the world we live in

  • increased vocabulary linked to placement, prepositions and adjectives

  • increased comprehension

The object of the game is to take turns saying two things that are opposite to each other.

  • It's important that the things are considered actual opposites: e.g. hot/ cold, hard/soft, big/ little, rough/smooth, up/ down, in front/ behind, before/ after, etc

  • It may be appropriate with young children to have a run through before the game commences

  • The game progresses and each person supplies one pair of opposites until one of the players can't think of another pair.

  • the game continues in this fashion until  there is only one player left.
