Sue’s Easy Tasty Slow-Cooked Steak


2 pieces Blade steak, bone out

3 Rashers chopped Bacon

1 large onion sliced

2 Tomatoes sliced

1 packet French Onion soup



  1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees

  2. Place steak on foil ensuring that there is enough to wrap over it

  3. Sprinkle the top of the steak with French Onion soup (only enough to cover steak)

  4. Add sliced tomatoes, then sliced onions and lay bacon on top. IMPORTANT: Wrap up foil ensuring that you seal all around. HINT: It's important to layer in this order for tomato juices to mix with the soup.

  5. Place on a baking tray

  6. Bake at 150 degrees for about 2 hours turning after one hour.


Meat melts in your mouth!


Serve with a potato in foil and steamed vegetables

HINT: Topping the potato with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkling of chives adds to the presentation and flavour.


VARIATION: Instead of using French Onion Soup, tomato, onion and bacon on the top of steak, substitute enough water to cover the steak and top with 2 tablespoons plum jam spread over the top.
